Many times when im chatting with a customer and reviewing the variables of the project I have to ask the year the home was built. If it was built before 1978 I then explain lead paint and the requirements from the EPA. I then get a truckload of responses. “The other guys did not mention this” or “oh well this has been painted many times and this top layer is not lead paint” I then explain that it must be tested to the original surface. If lead hot then there must be a protocol that traps all the paint chips that will fall to the ground. If you don’t think its serious, heres an example. The fines can be crushing.
